UPDATE to the Assault on the 100 block of South Garner Street, October 29, 2014

UPDATED INFORMATION: CORRECTION ON ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE BASED ON VIDEO SURVEILLANCE: On October 26, 2014 at approximately 3:16 AM the State College Police Department was dispatched to a fight in progress near the intersection of South Garner Street and East Calder Way.

Upon arrival officers stopped a white male that was not wearing a shirt and was bleeding from his facial area. EMS was called to the scene due to the extent of the males injuries and was later transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for facial fractures.

Drug Laced Candy Warning, December 11, 2014

       The State College Police has become aware of drug laced candies which are being distributed in the State College area. Gummy candy laced with Xanax, Valium, and other prescription meds have been around for some time but this is the first we have seen it in the State College area. The Gummy Bears are either injected or dipped in a Xanax solution that allows the drug to become absorbed into the candy. This process does not change the appearance of the candy. The State College Police are concerned that someone could easily overdose if they are not aware of what they are ingesting.

Harassment Release, December 10, 2014

The State College Police are investigating an incident that occurred on December 9, 2014 around 5:20 p.m. on the 500 block of East College Avenue. A 22-year-old Penn State student reported having water thrown on him from a Hetzel Plaza apartment window. In addition, the victim heard the suspect yell, “go back to your homeland”. The victim is of Hispanic descent. The Penn State Police are assisting in this investigation.
