Proclamations

Mayor Hahn issued the following proclamation:

  • Small Business Saturday — This proclamation declared Saturday, November 24, 2018, as Small Business Saturday. The Mayor urged people to support local businesses by buying local.

  • Flores Notice of Proposed Rulemaking— The Council authorized the Mayor to sign the multi-city comment and joining other municipalities objecting to the Flores Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, with regards to the care and custody of immigrant minors.

  • Approved a resolution for the destruction of records in the Finance and Tax Departments.

Planning and Zoning 

2019 Consolidated Annual Action Plan

The 2019 Consolidated Annual Action Plan (Action Plan) provides details on proposed projects for federal Community Development Block Grant and HOME grant money during fiscal year 2019. A public hearing on the Action Plan was held earlier in the meeting. Council approved the 2019 Action Plan.

Parking 

Downtown State College Holiday Parking Program

The Downtown State College Improvement District (DSCID) requested that Council review and approve the Holiday & Courtesy parking program for the 2018 holiday season. The 2018 program is the same as the approved 2017 program. It includes free parking validations to be used every day at all municipal parking garages, beginning November 26, 2018, through January 1, 2019. The validations will be provided by the downtown merchants to their customers. The DSCID has also requested the holiday courtesy parking program be done again this year during the same period with only two courtesy cards being issued per license plate. The DSCID also requested that the parking garages and on-street meters become free to all parkers starting on December 17 through Christmas Day on December 25, 2018. Council approved the program for the 2018 holiday season.
