The contractor for the State College Borough Public Works Department has experienced some delays after beginning the reconstruction of Easterly Parkway as part of a project to replace a structurally deficient traffic signal at this location.

In order to fix the unsuitable subgrade under the street, more material had to be excavated than previously expected. Because of this, the work on Easterly Parkway just west of University Drive will be extended into next week. Easterly Parkway will be closed during the evenings this week with one lane open during the day. By noon, Friday, October 26, both lanes will be open for the weekend however traffic will be running on stone.

Currently the paving subcontractor is scheduled to pave the Parkway Wednesday, October 31, through Friday November 2. This work will require the closeure of Easterly Parkway during these three days.
