Heritage State College Project Community Workshop #2

The Borough of State College is continuing its community-focused education and planning process to consider how two of its most heritage-rich neighborhoods, the Holmes Foster-Highlands and College Heights Historic Districts, could be preserved for future generations. The Borough is hosting its second Community Workshop on October 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. The Borough recently hosted its first community workshop and a joint Borough Council and Design and Historical Review Committee meeting. During this second workshop, the Borough will present a summary of the public input from these previous meetings and will engage residents to get additional comments.

Winter & Company, a planning and urban design firm based in Boulder, Colorado.

The Heritage State College Project and the development of a Historical Architectural Review Board (HARB) is a three-phase process. This education and engagement study session is part of Phase 1 of the project. Phase 1 will determine the next steps in the process. The Borough’s consultant, Winter & Company, will moderate these sessions. All feedback from these sessions will be recorded and considered by Borough Staff and Council before moving to Phases 2 and 3. Learn more about this project at
