In the past, several authorities were created to finance and supervise construction projects or to finance research and development enterprises. As these projects are completed, on-going actions are required to be taken during the life of the bond issues to conform to indenture requirements.

To reduce the number of inactive authorities, Council combined the Industrial & Commercial Development Authority, Municipal Building Authority, Parking Authority, Sewer Authority, Storm Water Authority, and Public Safety Building Authority into one "Authorities Board."

The Authorities Board has five members, all residents of the Borough. Unless a major project is undertaken, the Authorities Board will continue to meet infrequently. For information, call (814) 234-7106.
