Best Management Practices (BMPs) or Stormwater Controls are methods that have been determined to be the most effective and practical means of preventing or reducing non-point source pollution to help achieve water quality goals. BMPs include both measures to prevent pollution and measures to mitigate pollution. They filter out pollutants and/or prevent pollution by controlling it at its source. The Borough in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is taking efforts to improve the quality of stormwater run-off from properties in the Borough.
