UPDATE: The pedestrian involved in the fatal crash reported from State College Police on February 24, 2016, has been identified as State College resident, Josef Blunschi (66). The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash is Kay Shamalla (68) also from State College. An autopsy for Mr. Blunschi is scheduled for Friday, February 26, 2016 and the incident is still under investigation.
From February 24, 2016 release:
The State College Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred at about 6:50 pm on East Park Ave at the intersection with McKee St.  A 66year old male was struck while crossing the roadway.  He was transported from the scene by Centre Life Link EMS and taken to Mt. Nittany Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.  There were no other injuries in the crash.  The State College Police are in the process of notifying next of kin and are still investigating the crash events. East Park Ave was closed between Allen Street and Shortlidge Road while the scene was processed.  The State College police were assisted by Penn State University Police and the Alpha Fire Police.
