Stolen Car Arrest
On Thursday 9-21-17 at approx. 9:52 AM State College Police Officers responded to a Suspicious Vehicle / Health and Safety call. The complainant reported two males sitting in a parked car in a parking lot between Coal Alley and South Barnard St. The caller reported the males and car had been there for an extended period of time. Officers located the vehicle and learned the vehicle had been stolen in South Carolina. Ronald Porter and Keenan Lockhart from Georgia were in the vehicle and taken into custody without incident. Further investigation revealed Porter and Lockhart had also stolen a car in State College on 9-15-17 (SCP201706953). That vehicle was subsequently recovered on 9-16-17.
Porter and Lockhart have been charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Property and Firearms Violations for a handgun recovered from the car they were found in. Both were Preliminarily Arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Jordan and placed in the Centre County Prison in lieu of $ 40,000 bail. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for 9/27/17 at the Courthouse in Bellefonte.
