Fatal Crash

At approximately 0745hrs this morning, State College Police responded to a vehicle crash in the 3500 block of State Route 322, the Mount Nittany Expressway, between the College Avenue and Elmwood Street overpasses. 
The initial investigation found that a 19 year old female from Williamsport was west bound on 322 when she lost control of her Chevrolet Malibu and crossed into oncoming traffic on the east bound lanes.  She struck a Ford Focus head-on which was travelling east.  The struck vehicle was driven by 47 year old Robert Bloom of Bellefonte and his 15 year old son.  Mr. Bloom was pronounced dead at the scene.  The 15 year old passenger was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  The 19 year old driver went to MNMC with minor injuries.  Alcohol/Drugs are not believed to be factors at this time.  
State College Police are continuing the investigation into the events of the crash.
