Free bike and registration is required by the Centre Region Council of Governments and University Park Campus Policy PS03. Registration assists in recovering lost or stolen bikes, providing data for improving Penn Staters’ cycling experiences, and enforcing policies.

Why Register Your bike?
When bikes are registered, it increases the chances of recovery if they’re lost or stolen. Registration creates a searchable database of bikes that can be accessed by:
- Law enforcement agencies
- Local bike shops
- Other cyclists and community members
What's Needed to Register
- Your bike’s serial number (usually found under the bottom bracket, near the pedals)
- Basic details like brand, model, color and year
- (Optional) A photo of your bike, which greatly improves recovery chances
Stolen or Lost Bikes
If your bike is stolen in State College Borough, report it right away to State College Police Department.
File a Police Report Online
