Neighborhood Planning

The State College Borough Planning Commission will be preparing a Plan for the Borough’s Neighborhoods during 2013. The Planning Commission’s goal is to prepare a plan that considers both the individual needs and characteristics of each neighborhood, while also considering the neighborhoods’ commonalities and relationships to one another. The plan will combine recommendations of various Borough and Regional planning efforts with citizen-identified issues in order to prepare actionable strategies for our neighborhoods’ future. Downtown Master Plan

The Borough of State College, Penn State University and Downtown State College, Inc. have formed a partnership to complete a Downtown Master Plan. The last plan for Downtown was the Downtown Vision and Strategic Plan, which was prepared in late 2002. Because the community has experienced many changes over the last 10 years and the elements of the 2002 Plan have become outdated, the decision was made to hire a consulting team to prepare a new Downtown Master Plan.
