About the Commission

The Human Relations Commission was established in 2008. The Commission was created to hear and adjudicate complaints filed in relation to the Anti-Discrimination Ordinance. Any person(s) who claims he/she has been aggrieved by an unlawful practice under the Anti-Discrimination Ordinance may submit a complaint to the Human Relations Commission. The Human Relations Commission meets as needed. For questions about the Commission, please call 814-234-7115.

Anti-Discrimination Ordinance

The Anti-Discrimination Ordinance applies to all employers in State College Borough. It is the public policy of the Borough to foster employment of all persons in accordance with their fullest capacities regardless of actual or perceived race, color, sex, religion, ancestry, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, familial status, family responsibility, marital status, age, disability or handicap, use of service animals and/or mechanical aids, and to safeguard their rights to obtain and hold employment without such discrimination, to assure equal opportunities to all individuals and to safeguard their rights.
