Leaf Collection to Conclude on Tuesday, January 13
Leaf collection will conclude at the close of business on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. After this date, Borough residents may place any remaining leaves in their organic carts for weekly curbside collection. Spring leaf collection will run from March 30 through May 7, during which crews will canvass the Borough once per week.
State College National Day of Racial Healing
What does healing look like when every identity is acknowledged?
Join the Borough of State College, Community Diversity Group, and AAUW for the State College National Day of Racial Healing. This year's theme is Race and Identity: Fostering Healing in Our Communities, and serves as a day to bring together reflection, dialogue, and creative expression through keynote talks, identity-based discussions, and a collaborative closing activity.

Upcoming Travel Restrictions on Laurel Alley Between Fraternity Row and South Garner Street
On Friday, January 9, West Penn Power will be occupying the rear side of 348 East Foster Avenue in Laurel Alley between Fraternity Row and South Garner Street for work on pole #39353. Work will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and will cause the entire alley to be closed. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution when traveling near work areas. Free Winter Riding 101 Class
Ride your bike even after the temperatures drop! Winter Riding 101 is a free class that offers tips and tricks to help you extend your cycling season through the entire winter. Gain essential knowledge on riding style, equipment and clothing you can use to ride safely throughout the winter season. Examples of proper bike gear and clothing will be available at the event.

Upcoming Travel Restrictions on East Calder Way Between Sowers Street and Hetzel Street
On Thursday, January 8, and Friday, January 9, Landmark Urban Construction PA, LLC will be occupying East Calder Way between Sowers Street and Hetzel Street to demolish the south wall of 111 Sowers Street for The Mark State College construction project. Work will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and will cause the entire street to be closed. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution when traveling near work areas.
