Leaf Collection

Fall Leaf Collection 2026

Fall Leaf collection, yes, it is that time of the year to wipe the dust off those leaf blowers, lawn rakes, and tidy up the lawn.  Fall leaf collection will begin Monday, September 14, and continue through Thursday, December 17.

Public Works crews will collect leaves once each week throughout the Borough until collection ends.

Please have leaves ready for collection by 7:00 a.m. each Monday. Please rake leaves within 5 feet of the curb and do not place leaves in bags.  Please refrain from blowing or raking leaves into the street.  Please make sure that leaves are free of brush, glass, cans, rocks, or other debris, as these items may cause damage to the collection equipment. Foreign objects and debris mixed in with leaves also add contaminants to our compost materials, making it more difficult to produce a quality product.  After Thursday, December 17, unbagged leaves can be placed in your organics cart, which will be collected on your normal refuse collection day.

Spring Leaf Collection

The spring leaf collection starts in March and ends mid-May.

Request an Organics Cart

Sign up for the organics recycling program by calling 814-234-7135 or 814-234-7140 to request an organics recycling cart free of charge. Requests for organics carts can also be made by submitting an online request form

Collection & Other Yard Trimming

Brush (woody, chippable material) is collected separately from leaves. Schedule brush collection by calling 814-234-7135 or submit a request online. Grass clippings and brush that can fit inside an organics recycling cart, should be placed in the green-lidded organics recycling carts.
