Join the Discussion: Community Conversations on Incarceration and Reentry in State College

Join the Borough of State College and the Center for Alternatives in Community Justice (CACJ) for the next conversation in the Community Conversations Series. This session explores incarceration and reentry through a local lens, starting with a panel of local experts followed by an interactive Reentry Simulation led by Penn State’s Restorative Justice Initiative.

Upcoming Travel Restrictions on Kennedy Street Between Campbell Road End of Kennedy Street

On Friday, November 14, Asplundh Tree LLC will be occupying Kennedy Street between Campbell Road and the end of Kennedy Street for tree trimming and removal. Work will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will cause one travel lane to be closed. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution when traveling near work areas. On Friday, November 14, Asplundh Tree LLC will be occupying Ronan Drive between Campbell Road and Tall Oaks Drive for tree trimming and removal. Work will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will cause one travel lane to be closed. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution when traveling near work areas. The Borough of State College Parking Department will be lifting the “No Parking 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.” and the one- and two-hour restrictions beginning at noon Friday, November 7. Event rates will be in effect at all meters, lots and garages beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday through 6:00 p.m. Sunday. All restrictions will go back into place at 2:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10. Lawn parking will not be permitted.

Upcoming Parking Changes from Nov. 7-10

The Borough of State College Parking Department will be lifting the “No Parking 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.” and the one- and two-hour restrictions beginning at noon Friday, November 7. Event rates will be in effect at all meters, lots and garages beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday through 6:00 p.m. Sunday. All restrictions will go back into place at 2:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10. Lawn parking will not be permitted.

Please note that Pennsylvania Vehicle Code Violations will be strictly enforced:

  • No Parking on the Sidewalk⁠
  • No Parking within an Intersection⁠
  • No Parking on a Crosswalk⁠
  • No Parking within 20 feet of Crosswalk at an Intersection⁠
  • No Parking 30 feet of a Stop Sign⁠
  • No Parking over 12 inches from the Curb⁠
  • No Parking against Traffic⁠
  • No Parking in Front of Driveway⁠
  • No Parking Anytime⁠

Cars in violation of any of the above violations will be subject to ticketing and towing. ⁠All other non-PA Vehicle Code Violations will be strictly enforced as well. Parking meters on-street and parking lots are enforced from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
