Driveways & Curb Cuts

Driveways

A Zoning Permit is required prior to construction of any new driveway or prior to the expansion of an existing driveway. Driveway construction, access, width and location, as well as curb cuts, are regulated. Zoning Permit applications should include a site plan showing existing and proposed conditions, with dimensions of driveway area and required setbacks labeled.

Building/Zoning Permit Application

Curb Cuts

A Street Excavation/Occupancy Permit is required if the curb is to be cut or modified, or if the right-of-way is to be blocked in any capacity during construction. This permit is administered by the Public Works Department. Please visit their page for more information on this permit. When a Zoning Permit is required, the Street Excavation/Occupancy Permit will not be issued until the Zoning Permit is approved.

Parking Areas

The construction of new or expansion of existing off-street parking areas may be subject to the requirements of a Land Development Plan, prior to the issuance of a Zoning Permit.

Resurfacing & Repair

To resurface, seal or repair an existing driveway in-kind, a permit is not required.
