Please note the following important reminders:

→ Trash and recycling: In residential areas, clear space for trash carts and recycling bins. Do not place containers in the street or on top of snow piles. Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority will be delaying recycling collection one day. Monday's collection will now be collected on Tuesday, Tuesday's on Wednesday, and so on throughout the week.

For commercial trash collection, any routes not completed by the end of the day on Monday, January 26, will be caught up throughout the week. The remainder of the week’s service is not expected to be affected. Please ensure dumpsters are not blocked by snow piles to keep service moving.

→ Fire safety: Clear at least a 3-foot radius around fire hydrants to provide firefighters the space they need to work. Accessibility is critical should a fire occur. Snow-covered hydrants can cause dangerous delays when minutes matter.

Winter Weather Information

Due to the upcoming winter weather, the Borough of State College would like to encourage the community to move vehicles off the streets on Saturday evening in preparation for the forecasted snowstorm. This will allow snowplow crews to safely and effectively clear roads at the immediate onset of the snow event.

When the snowfall totals reach 3 inches, the Borough of State College will declare a snow emergency, requiring parked vehicles to be removed from public roadways until the emergency is lifted.

Please note: Bulk and Brush collections will not take place on Monday, January 26. Anyone who has placed items out for collection is asked to move them away from the curb so the items don't interfere with snow removal.

Information on regular refuse/recycling collection will be provided on Monday.
